When Analytics Debugger is the better choice

For GA4 and GTM work in DevTools it is a capable tool, and it blocks hits and forces DebugView as Tag Master does. If your work stays inside GA4 and GTM and you prefer a DevTools panel, it covers that ground.

Questions

Is Tag Master a replacement for Analytics Debugger?

For most debugging, yes. In this comparison Tag Master does 5 things Analytics Debugger does not — server-side GTM hits recognised and works on first-party endpoints among them. Analytics Debugger still has its place, and the section on when to use it says so plainly.

Can I use Tag Master and Analytics Debugger together?

Yes. Both read the page from the browser; having both installed costs nothing, and each can be switched off when the other is in use.

Is Tag Master free?

Yes — every feature, with no account and no paid tier, including for commercial work.
